Embattled incumbent Rep. Dana Rohrabacher is under fire from the campaign of former Assemblyman and OC GOP Chairman Scott Baugh, as well as a SuperPAC called New OC Future.
The New OC Future cable TV ad takes aim at Rohrabacher (who was first elected in 1988) for the $4.3 in salary he’s collected over the years, and for the more than $1 million his wife has been paid from his campaign fund:
The Baugh for Congress campaign is also on cable with an ad responding to the all-out negative assault from the Rohrabacher camp:
Rohrabacher’s brutal attack on Baugh is an unusual way to open his re-election campaign. Incumbents usually kick-off their re-election campaigns with mailers and/or ad touting their records and what they have accomplished for their constituents. Instead, Rohrabacher, who was first elected in 1988, came out of the gate attacking his opponent with a series of incendiary, dubious attacks on the former Assemblyman and chairman of the OC Republican Party.
