From the Tyler Diep for Assembly campaign:
(Westminster, CA) – Westminster Councilman Tyler Diep announced today that Assemblyman Phillip Chen has endorsed his campaign for the 72nd Assembly district.
Since launching his campaign only six weeks ago, Diep has picked up the support of current 72nd district Assemblyman Travis Allen, the Lincoln Club of Orange County, and Orange County’s top law enforcement officials, Sheriff Hutchens and DA Rackauckas. He has also amassed a strong fundraising lead of nearly $300,000 cash on hand.
“Tyler knows the struggles that many southern California families go through in order to make ends meet, and he knows what it takes to make California more friendly to both families and job creators,” said Assemblyman Chen. “I’m confident that he’ll join me in fighting to make our state a better place to raise a family and start a business.”
As a councilman, Diep has fought to make Westminster more friendly for local small businesses and job creators. If elected to the Assembly, Tyler will continue to fight for job creation and against attempts to raise taxes. He’s committed to prioritize fixing our state’s crumbling highway and water infrastructure and improving education.
“I am honored to have Assemblyman Chen’s endorsement and confidence,” said Diep. “I look forward to working with him to help grow jobs and opportunities for all Orange County residents.”
Diep was first elected to the Westminster City Council in 2008. He has been a strong taxpayer advocate, is committed to job creation and supporting small businesses by keeping taxes low, and has prioritized hiring more police officers and road repair while on the city council. He also serves as Director of the Midway City Sanitary District and works for the State Board of Equalization where he helps small businesses navigate through the bureaucracy of the IRS and Franchise Tax Board.
The 72nd District includes all of Westminster, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, a portion of Huntington Beach and the unincorporated county island of Midway City.
