From a Tim Shaw for Supervisor press release:
(Anaheim, California) – La Habra Mayor Pro Tem Tim Shaw has won the endorsement of Anaheim’s top City leaders in the campaign to succeed termed out Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson in the Fourth District. The largest city in the Fourth District, Anaheim is the only city with a directly-elected mayor. Mayor Tom Tait and Councilman James Vanderbilt have both endorsed Shaw for Supervisor.
“Shawn Nelson, Tim Shaw, and I are the Fourth District’s representatives on OCTA, so I’ve seen Tim in action firsthand,” said Mayor Tom Tait. “Tim Shaw protects the taxpayers and gets things done for the people of North Orange County. As the only Fourth District candidate with local government experience, Tim Shaw will have a shorter learning curve and can hit the ground running on the Board of Supervisors on behalf of the taxpayers of Orange County.”
“Shannon and Tim Shaw are raising their young children in North Orange County,” said Councilman James Vanderbilt, a former school board member. “Tim Shaw is an educator himself and would bring a new perspective to the Board of Supervisors, which hasn’t had an educator in over a decade.”
The only sitting elected official running to succeed Nelson, Shaw currently serves alongside Shawn Nelson and Tom Tait in representing the Fourth District on the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Board of Directors. A regional leader, Shaw also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Association of California Cities-Orange County (ACCOC) and of the Orange County Sanitation District.
In the private sector, Shaw works as the Director of Government Affairs for the Pacific West Association of REALTORS®. Mayor Pro Tem Shaw is also an adjunct professor of American Government, having taught for 12 years. Married to Shannon, Tim Shaw is the proud father of five sons. He went to high school in the Fourth District, where he and Shannon have chosen to raise their family.
